Ever been at a place in your life when you wanted to make a move towards a goal or dream but was scared to do so?  I sure was—and this book helped me to overcome that.

I came across the book Conquer Fear!: A Unique Blend of Psychology and Theology to Change Your Beliefs — And Thus Your Results  by Lisa Jimenez (Executive, 2002) a few years ago while browsing around on Amazon.com.  After reading the overview, it sounded like something that would be good for me to read because of all that was happening in my life at the time:  I was at a major life crossroads and, even though I had come up with a few ideas on the directions that I should take next, I was too afraid to move—paralyzed by the fear of stepping out of my comfort zone.

Conquer Fear” is a book that not only gives instruction on how to overcome being afraid to move in life, but in addition it helps readers get to the core of the problem, uncovering the reason why  the fear exists.  Each chapter takes time to break down the truths, myths, and behaviors of fear, and equips readers with the tools needed to destroy the walls of self-limiting beliefs that stand in between them and the goals they wish to achieve.

Although small in size (only 129 pages) the book is packed with lots of anecdotes for blocking negative thinking, overcoming naysayers and other obstacles, and pressing forward when things seem too hard to bear.  It also has critical thinking activities and exercises throughout the book that focus on everything from faith and courage to purpose and talents.  These work to aid readers to see themselves more clearly, resulting in a higher level of self-awareness and personal power.

By the end of this book, you won’t be ready to conquer the world, but you will be more in tune with yourself and prepared to take the first steps towards your next level in life—whatever level that may be.  It truly is a book for everyone—whether you’re just starting out in life or you’re well accomplished but have a desire to go even higher.  It is definitely a book worth reading!
