Wake up. Go to work. Return home. Watch TV. Go to bed. This is how many people live their lives. They operate as if they are on the outside of life’s doors looking in; as if their on the other side of an imaginary velvet rope. They watch commercials and see images of exotic destinations and exhilarating lives, and believe that such things are meant for other people—not for them. They etch in their minds that their lives are meant to be ordinary, meant to be mundane, and in their eyes, “that’s just the way it is.”
What a dreadful mindset to have!
Do these people not know that the world is theirs? That they can go and do and be anything and anywhere that they so desire? Life is not meant to be worked into the ground and lived within the confines of four walls. There are so many beautiful things to see and experience and enjoy! Life is not meant to be ordinary, but to be extraordinary—wonderful—grand! Simply put, life is meant to be LIVED!
Now that you have read the above, ask yourself: when was the last time you did something out of the ordinary? When was the last time you dined at a new restaurant or saw a midnight screening of a movie? When was the last time you went on a real vacation (and was that vacation to someplace you have never been before)? When was the last time you did something completely spontaneous for yourself or with your mate or your children? How often have you put off doing something you really wanted to do because of work or family issues? Do you shy away from attending events and going to new places because you are afraid you may feel out of place?
What about your dreams? Have you tucked them away to the very corners of your mind? Do you come up with great ideas but never implement them? Do you always push your goals back to later dates?
If any of the above describe you or any part of your life then I have one word for you: GO! Get out there! The world awaits you! You only have one life—and you must start living it to the fullest as much as you possibly can while you still can. I once heard a preacher say, “All you’ve got is NOW!” This is a very accurate statement! ‘Tomorrow’ and ‘later’ are not promised to any of us—we must live each day as if it were our very last.
What are you waiting on? Live now. Do now.
