Bad days really do stress me out. You know: those days where nothing seems to go right for you no matter how hard or how many ways you try? It is as if one thing after another goes haywire. It can really wear you down, burn you out, and cause you to quit trying to get anything accomplished at all.
That’s the type of day that I’ve had today. First I had tons of issues with technology, then my youngest daughter became ill at school. Over and over unexpected phone calls and emails delayed me from adhering to my schedule and list of things-to-do. On top of that I encountered people who were far less than cordial with me. I have to admit that it wasn’t long before I felt my usually positive outlook fading rapidly. Not only was I ready to give up for the day, I was ready to walk away from some major projects for good.
Just then, I remembered something very important: that number one, I am not the type of person to give up easily on anything. If there is something that is important to me, not matter what it takes, I will keep at it until the end. Second, I hold true to the belief that there is no such thing as a wasted day—if I am breathing, I will make something salvageable out of the day in spite of all that may happen. I like to view myself as a winner at the end of each day, and if I wanted that feeling, I had to keep going.
