Black Music Month Series: The Power In Pressing Forward

 

This week’s Music Mondays selection is one of my all-time favorites. When you find yourself at a point in life where it feels like you have hit a brick wall, you cannot allow that feeling to persuade you to abandon your goals and ideas. Instead of walking away from the wall as acceptance of defeat, knock the wall down, dust the debris off of your shoulders, and GO!

 

Do you know the amount of power that lies in the simple refusal to give up? Lots!! When you strip everything else away, the level of drive and perseverance within you is the only thing that determines your outcome–and it is activated by your power. And your power is activated by your mindset. A highly optimistic attitude builds a high level of power, and that power is what fuels your determination.

 

 

So tell me, are you going to let your thoughts control you, OR

Are you going to take charge of your life and put your thoughts in control?

 You want to do the latter, you say? Then I have one word for you:  PUSH!

To apply pressure against for the purpose of moving

To move by exerting force against it; thrust or shove.

To advance despite difficulty or opposition; press forward.

To urge forward or urge insistently.

To expend great or vigorous effort.

Don’t just tap into your power—reclaim it at all cost!! Affirm in your mind that you refuse to fail or forfeit your predestined success. Fight with everything that you have continue going.

 

 

 Remember:  your greatest power lies in pressing forward!
