News Notes: Nick Cannon Donates 20,000 Backpacks to South Florida Youth [VIDEO]

In a joint effort with the Office Depot Foundation, Nick Cannon has donated 20,000 backpacks to under-privileged youth in the South Florida area.

The “America’s Got Talent” host was on hand to help distribute 10,000 of the supply-filled backpacks at an Office Depot store event on Thursday.  A second event to give away the remaining 10,000 backpacks is scheduled for Saturday.

Earlier this year, Office Depot partnered with Laga Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation to create an exclusive line of limited edition supplies for back-to-school.  In this latest effort, the Office Depot Foundation’s mission is to donate a total of 400,000 backpacks globally.

“It’s so cool to see the young people, especially when you’re encouraging them and inspiring them for something positive like education, and to see them get excited about it,” Nick Cannon said.
