Laila Ali has joined the ranks of other celebrity moms such as Julianne Moore, Maya Rudolph, and Christina Applegate as an ambassador of the Moms Clean Air Force, an initiative of the Environmental Defense Fund whose mission is to increase support and awareness of clean air standards and practices from moms across the nation.
The former boxing champion says she gained a different perspective on the importance of air quality upon having her 2 children, and felt compelled to do something to make a difference.
“I speak out on air pollution because I feel like there are so many kids right now that are affected and it is really sad,” said Ali. “You usually go to the schools now and so many kids in the classroom have asthma — way more than when I was a child.”
Take a look as she further discusses why she joined the Moms Clean Air Force:

Being a mother to children with asthma, I completely understand Laila’s reasoning for joining the Moms Clean Air Force. It is an initiative that I plan to get involved with in my own community.
