When I find a product or service that I like, I tend to stick with it pretty much forever—that is, unless I am made to feel that my loyalty is not valued.

Take cell phone service for example.  I have been with my current provider for several years—in fact it is the only company I have ever been with. Yet, after enduring the many ups and downs and dealing with frustrations of changes throughout the years, there has never been any indication that they appreciate my business.

 .

Sometimes I feel as if they could not possibly be that into me since I never receive any special perks or acknowledgement for being a customer for so long—not even a mere “Thank You.” When I am loyal to a company and they have nothing in place to show that my business is valued, that does not make me very happy at all.

 .

True enough, I have grown frustrated with it all—and I am not alone in feeling this way, either.

Out of the 1,208 participants polled across four regions of the country, 56 percent of the respondents admitted to being unhappy with their carrier over the past year but only 35 percent of all respondents have ever broken up with their provider.

 .

Is it asking too much to get more out of a cell phone company for all that you give to it?

 .

The bottom line is overall, people just want to feel valued, and cell phone companies need to do more to show that they understand fact that loyalty should be a two-way street.

 .

One company that is demonstrating this is U.S. Cellular. By introducing the Hello Better campaign to the public, U.S. Cellular is encouraging people to say goodbye to dysfunctional wireless relationships and say hello to a better experience. Goodbye neglect, hello respect.

Now that is how a company proves loyalty.

When you feel confident that a company values you and your business, not only are you happy, but you are also more inclined to stay with that company for the long haul. If other cell phone companies would follow suit and have a great programs like the U.S. Cellular Hello Better campaign, it would truly make for a world of difference in customer satisfaction.
