Over the weekend, I attended the Show Me the Blog Social Media and Blogging Conference held in St. Louis. The fact that this is my second Show Me the Blog Conference is a huge accomplishment for me, as at the time of last year’s conference I had only been blogging for only one(yes one) month! Everything was so new and overwhelming to me, I was not sure if I was going to make it through the conference at all!
.
.
In fact, I was SO panicked that I wrote a post about it - >>check it out here<<
Anyways,
this year’s Show Me the Blog conference was held at the Regional Arts Commission. Topics such as Freelancing for Sites and publications, Social Media Measurement, Podcasting and more were covered during the course of two days by a host of top-notch presenters:
Linda Doty did an excellent job discussing blogging for a global audience
.
.
Kitty Bradshaw and her awesome presentation on working with brands
.
.
There was also a special presentation and demo form the Midwest Dairy Council
.
.
In addition to having a better understanding of the covered topics, a year later I also realize that although doing anything for the first time can be extremely nerve-wrecking, it does indeed get better. I noticed right away that, unlike last year when I was too afraid to even get out of my seat both days, this year I was not only more comfortable, but I was also more confident and outgoing. The shift resulted in many great connections (and re-connections) with some very wonderful people!

.
.
Terrance Gaines of BrothaTech.com and Kesha Brown of UncommonChick.com
.
.
Something else that made this year’s conference better for me was that I remembered the missteps I made while attending last year, and took measures to avoid a repeat performance!

The Show Me the Blog conference was absolutely great! I must give a huge shout-out of congratulations to the Founder and Coordinator, Danyelle Little, for an amazing job! I learned a wealth of information that I definitely plan to put into use with my blog.
I am already looking forward to next year!

So great finally meeting you! And nice to be included in the post! I so know what you are saying on stepping out of our comfort zone. Last year I had lived in St. Louis for a few weeks and decided to go on Saturday. I was much more reserved than normal, but luckily I met several people who I was able to connect with! Glad we’ve made that connection too finally!

Great post! I read this one and your first conference post. I have yet to attend my first blogging conference and I look forward to the experience in the near future hopefully. Now that you’re a seasoned vet, you can pass some of your conference wisdom on to me
