To me, one of the very best parts of the Holiday season is spreading love and showing appreciation to friends and family near and far. It is also a great time to show a little extra love to those who are usually under-appreciated throughout the year. And whenever there is an opportunity to combine giving with supporting a great cause and helping others live a healthy life, that just makes it all the better.
..
.
That is exactly what I did this year with the help of Unilever!
.
.
A few weeks ago I shared with you how Unilever is taking a stand in the fight against hunger with Cross Off Hunger, a special campaign where Unilever has committed to donating two million meals to families in need to the Feeding America organization. The campaign is also a part of the company’s Making Life Better initiative, a full-point action strategy that focuses on reducing environmental impact, improving health and well-being, and enhancing livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of people. Through this initiative, the company hopes to inspire people to put small actions into place in their own lives that will make a big difference overall.
.
The moment I learned about Unilever’s Making Life Better initiative, I knew exactly what I wanted to do to show my support for this important cause—make Unilever brands a part of my Holiday gift giving!
.
When I traveled to the store to do my shopping, I was so happy to see that Unilever was already on the ball—there were lots of great Holiday box sets available that were perfect for gifts of appreciation!
.
This Dove set will be going to my my favorite Cashier at my neighborhood grocery store. she always shares a funny joke or story with me that makes me smile every time I see her — and she even gives my kids cookies sometimes when they are with me!
.
This AXE set will go to my oldest son’s math teacher, who always goes above and beyond to answer my emails day and night! He is also a huge inspiration for my son. for that, I am very grateful!
.
In addition to making gift purchases, I also picked up a few Unilever products for donation to my city’s homeless shelter and our local food bank.
.
We picked up a few Lever 2000 and Dove soap multi-packs for personal care item donations to our city’s homeless shelter and area food bank
..
We also got food items such as Ragu sauce and Hellman’s mayonnaise for our area’s local food bank
.
We could not wait to get home and prepare everything for giving!
.
Once home, we wrapped the gifts for the grocery store cashier and math teacher, and sorted and prepared the other items to take to their donation destinations.
.
No peeking! ~We’re all set to GIVE!
.
I am a huge believer in the importance and support of health and well-being. I also share the message of how small everyday actions can make a big difference in the world. By taking the Unilever products that my family uses everyday and sharing them as gifts and donations as a way of supporting the company in their Making Life Better initiative, I can do my part to help millions of people sustain a lifestyle of health, well-being, and self-esteem not just during the Holidays, but every day.
.
.
I feel so good that our family made this year a Unilever Holidays! It’s not too late for you to do the same!
