Beyonce Documentary Nets Record Ratings; Father Breaks Silence [VIDEO]

Beyoncé continues her ride on the wave of good news as her intimate documentary “Life Is But A Dream” scored record-breaking numbers for HBO this past weekend.

The 90-minute film drew 1.8 million viewers during its premiere on Saturday, marking the largest audience for an HBO documentary since Nielsen changed its method of measuring viewership in 2004.

Beyonce’s “Life Is But A Dream” documentary now surpasses  Spike Lee’s Hurricane Katrina miniseries “When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts,” which scored 1.7 million viewers in 2006.

The “Love On Top” singer was extremely good business for the cable network OWN as well. Her hour-long interview for “Oprah’s Next Chapter” which aired prior to the HBO documentary averaged 1.3 million-plus viewers.

Meanwhile, Father Mathew Knowles appeared on HLN‘s “The Showbiz Countdown” recently and broke his silence about his feelings for Beyonce’, her achievements, and her growth both as an artist and as an individual; sharing that he is very proud of his daughter. “I’m proud to see her as a mother,” said Knowles during the interview. “I know this was something very important to her and to see her hold Blue Ivy—that’s something very special.”I have a picture that no one else will ever get to see of her holding Blue Ivy. You can see the joy in her face.”
